are looking forward to the release of "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Unfortunately, fans may have to wait a little longer, as it was revealed that production has been postponed for one ironic reason: winter hasn't officially come yet.

"Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announced that production for the HBO fantasy drama will begin later than expected, as they await gloomy weather in a bid to portray an authentic "Winter is here" scenario.

"We don't have an air date yet," the creators said, as quoted by The Hollywood Reporter. "We're starting a bit later because at the end of this season, 'Winter is here' - and that means that sunny weather doesn't really serve our purposes anymore. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, gray weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot."

The show usually premieres a new season sometime between March and April; however, it appears that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will start much later than that.

Meanwhile, fans have begun to lay some ground work on their predictions for "Game of Thrones" Season 7. With their individual success in Season 6 and their confirmed familial relationship, all eyes are on Jon and Daenerys.

The final episode of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 basically confirmed the most popular theory in the franchise's history - "R+L=J," which means Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. It was revealed that Lyanna indeed gave birth to Jon in the Tower of Joy. Although there was no mention as to the father in that episode, Rhaegar is the clear and obvious choice.

There are speculations that Jon and Daenerys might marry to secure their positions of power in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Jon needs a strong ally to fortify his leadership in Winterfell, while Daenerys also needs a strong ally in Westeros, and what stronger bond is there than that of family.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke expressed a different take on Jon and Dany's potential encounter.

"I don't know. I could kill him. He could kill me. He could be dead before we even meet. I could be dead before we even meet. Arya could kill us both! You never know! Anything's possible," Clarke said.
