Gummy, whose real name is Park Ji Yeon, relayed his gratitude to "Descendants of the Sun" star Song Joong Ki, 30, for his generous gift. The 35-year-old singer recently talked about her rendezvous with Song.

Gummy appeared on the July 10 broadcast of SBS's "Cultwo Show," where she complimented Song for his incredible manners. She also revealed the actor's sweet side, stating that Song actually gifted her a luxury name brand handbag.

"I've been singing a lot of drama OSTs lately," Soompi quoted Gummy as saying. "I sang one for 'Descendants of the Sun.' I went to the drama concert, and Song Joong Ki came and gave me a handbag."

Gummy goes ahead to say that Song was very kind and considerate, noting that it was the first time she had a long conversation with him. The singer was a special surprise guest at Song's fan meeting in Taipei, Taiwan on June 25.

Gummy put on quite a show performing "Descendants of the Sun" original soundtrack (OST) titled "You are my Everything." The OST was released on March 10 and shortly topped iTunes K-pop charts in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, New Zealand, Canada, Australia and Indonesia.

The soundtrack also made it to the top 10 in Vietnam and the United States. On March 26, the singer relayed her appreciation to Song Hye Kyo and Joong Ki, also known as Song-Song couple, for all the love received by her OST track.

"I had no idea this song would be so loved," Korea's Naver TV quoted Gummy as saying before a predominantly Korean crowd. "I'm so grateful to the Song-Song couple."

It is not the first time the Hallyu star has shown his jaw-dropping benevolence. Joong Ki recently gave a housewarming gift to co-star Kim Min Suk. It was later revealed that the gift was a brand-new silver refrigerator.

The actor has also channeled millions to the Korean Childhood Leukemia Foundation (KCLF) since 2011. He also took part in the yellow ribbon campaign in 2011, in a bid to raise awareness about pediatric cancer.

Joong Ki previously donated around 100 million won ($85, 521) through UNICEF to offer help the casualties of Nepal earthquake. Recently, Joong Ki has also donated all of his proceeds from the Chinese variety show "Happy Camp" to a local charity organization.
