The next season of "South Park" is rumored to be as short as its predecessor. While this scheme is practiced across numerous TV series, questions regarding the continuity of the show's existence has been raised especially now that season 20 took a few more months before finally being confirmed.
It has been months since the last season of "South Park" aired on television. The last episode ended in December last year, and seven months and counting of waiting may have been already long for fans. It is already good news that Comedy Central has confirmed the show's premiere on Sept. 14 and a fan experience happening on July 22 at the San Diego Comic Con.
Dubbed as the "South Park 20 Experience," Comedy Central already prepared full panel plans, an interactive exhibit, video games and other platforms. The event will be hosted by Chris Hardwick in Hall H at 5PM to tackle the transition and development of the said show over the past years. Hardwick will also be entertaining questions from fans and will provide an exclusive sneak peek of "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," Screen Crush reported.
According to the organizers, the centerpiece of the celebration will allow fans to experience the 20 iconic and fan favorite scenes. They can choose from the Hulu Viewing Lounge which will be airing all episodes of "South Park," "The Coon and Friends Experience" which will feature real-world items from "South Park: The Fractured But Whole" video game and a retrospective gallery that will feature animation cells from the debut episode of "South Park."
It is good news for fans as the show was given a prior three-season renewal that will last until 2019. The upcoming season will retain the continuity of season 19 which tackled certain aspects such as politic correctness, advertising, digital media and populist politics, iDigital Times reported.
Season 19's story arc will be continued in season 20 which will most likely involve Mr. Garrison and Principal Victoria who both run for president of the United States. This is timely for the upcoming elections in the US, an event which have been commented by the show's creators since the series began.
