The GeForce GTX 1070 is the latest medium priced graphic card from Nvidia, but its performance almost put it on par with its pricier sibling, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080.

The GTX 1070 can actually play most of the graphic intensive games  and programs available today without much difficulty. It could probably do so for several years before gamers will need a replacement video card. The reasonable price for its awesome performance will likely make this the GPU of choice for many buyers.

When GeForce GTX 1070 was compared to an older model, the GTX 970, virtual reality applications are processed more than twice as fast in the 1070 than in the 970. Playing graphic intensive games such as "Rise of the Tomb Raider" and "The Witcher 3" also shows the superiority of the GTX 1070 in terms of processing speed, according to geforce.com.

A 4K and 1440p benchmark test showed the GTX 1070 consistently beating rival Radeon RX 480 in Witcher 3, Hitman and Doom. The GTX 1070 is admittedly pricier than the RX 480 or even the GTX 1060, but its performance is a topnotch and users can expect to use it for several years to come.

The GTX 1070 also sports the same sleek appearance of Nvidia's recent models. The graphic card was created based on the Pascal GPU architecture, wherein memory specs include GDDDR5 8GB chip with memory bandwidth of around 256 GB/second.

The GTX 1070 is running with a base clock speed of 1506 MHz and boost speed of 1683 MHz, and it supports various APIs of Windows Direct X and Vulkan. It also naturally supports various Nvidia proprietary technologies like Ansel, G-SYNC and GameStream. The GTX 1070, like the Radeon RX 480, is also capable of Virtual Reality programs and also supports simultaneous multi-projections.

The GeForce GTX 1070 is capable of supporting the OpenGL version 4.5, and even managed to get an OS certification for the Windows 7 up to 10, Linux and FreeBSDx86.

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 basic edition starts at a mere $379, while the Founder model can be purchased for at least $499.
