YG new girl BLACKPINK debut is reportedly delayed by the agency as it waits for the comeback of another girl group, Red Velvet.

Red Velvet is S.M. Entertainment's third generation girl group after Girl's Generation and F(x). The group debuted on Aug. 1, 2014 and has hits like Happiness, Ice Cream Cake, and Dumb Dumb. It was rumored that the girls will be back for a summer comeback.

According to All KPop, the girls will return with a new album in July. S.M. Entertainment said in a statement, "Comeback preparations are in progress. Red Velvet is working on a new album, and once the comeback date is confirmed, we will make an announcement."

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment confirmed that BLACKPINK debut is at the end of the month. The debut song will be revealed later this month. However, International Business Times reported that the group has filmed two MVs for their album and they will film six more. This hinted that the group will debut with a full album and not a mini album. The group is probably aiming for "Rookie of the Year" award at Mnet Asia Music Award 2016.

Teddy will be the main producer of the new girl group. It was thought that G-Dragon will be the producer of the girls, but it seems that Teddy has more songs fit for a girl group. Teddy has been in charge of 2NE1's albums. Thus, we can expect songs similar to 2NE1.

YG Entertainment has officially revealed the members of BLACKPINK - Jennie Kim, Lalisa Manoban, Kim Jisoo, and Park Chaeyoung. Yibada previously reported that the new YG girl group will have four members like its sunbae group 2NE1.

The hype around BLACKPINK doused the hopes of Blackjacks of seeing 2NE1 as a trio this year after Minzy left the group and the label.
