Song Joong-Ki's fan cafe called Ki Aile is in the public eye after several reports revealed that some of its officials reportedly ran off with the group's money totaling to 10 million won ($8,800). The fan cafe was established on Jan. 8, 2006 and has more than 85, 000 registered fans worldwide.

On July 22, Friday, members of the fan cafe revealed their suspicions about the operators misappropriating funds, News Nate reported. The money in question was collected from fans who provided monetary support to make several slogans.

Not long after the embezzlement allegations made public, several posts on Ki Aile showed members thoroughly examining the total cost of making the slogans and several unclear receipts. The treasurer in-charge of the fan cafe is now missing.

"We are not connected to the official fan cafe 'Ki Aile'," Blossom Entertainment said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "And we do not interfere in its matters."

Song made his acting debut in the 2008 period film called "A Frozen Flower." Since then, he appeared in several TV shows in South Korea, most notably in 2010's historical drama "Sungkyungkwan Scandal" and SBS's variety show, "Running Man."

The actor experienced a tremendous growth in his popularity all through Asia after he took on the lead role in the massive pan-Asia hit drama, "Descendants of the Sun." The 16-episode drama was incredibly popular with its final episode recording a 38.8 viewership rating across South Korea.

Song will show up next in "Battleship Island," an upcoming historical action film to be directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan. It stars Hwang Jung Min, So Ji Sub and actress Lee Jung-Hyun, with the filming began June 17 in Cheongju, South Korea.

Set during the Japanese pilgrim period, "Battleship Island" recounts the concealed story of how 400 Joseon people risk their lives trying to get away from the 6.3-hectare Hashisma Island, wherein they were forcibly displaced. It is scheduled to be released in theaters across South Korea in early 2017.

More details about the project will be revealed soon. Check out Song as Captain Yoo Si Jin in a short video clip below:
