The role of Captain Marvel a.k.a. Carol Danvers represents the woman power of Marvel Comics and Marvel Cinematic universe. That's why they have chosen the date of Women's day to release the movie on Mar. 8, 2019. Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios announced this great news in the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 on July 23.

A few months back there were news in media about the possibility of Larson signing on the dotted line; however, no one anticipated that it will come out so soon. According to Variety, Larson was the front runner to play the role of Carol Danvers which they announced in June this year.
