One of the most fascinating theories that had fans intrigued for a major part of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 was that Arya Stark and The Waif are the same person. Though it fell flat on its face with the killing of the latter at the hands of our badass Stark girl, the theory has again gained some steam.

Huffington Post states that the panel discussion at the recently-concluded San Diego Comic-Con has brought it out in the open. At the event, Faye Marsay, or The Waif was also present and she was asked about the same theory. The actress said that she thinks that the theory is a cool one, but Arya's journey is totally hers and the way it is now, is the best way, it could be.

Marsay further praised the ingenuity and creativity of the alter-ego theory, posted by Reddit user catNamedStupidity, that had become popular as the "Braavosi Fight Club," but concluded her answer by saying that the writers got it right. Now this would have meant a complete death of the crazy idea. After all, it is coming straight off from the mouth of the one who was playing the character.

Maybe, not. Metro UK reports that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss maintained a cryptic silence when the same question was posed to them. While Weiss smiled and shrugged off the query, Benioff raised his eyebrows, but didn't utter a single word. This led actor Liam Cunningham, who was also present on the panel, to quip "good answer."

This very stance of the showrunners has again created a buzz about the theory that died a silent death in the "Game of Thrones" Season 6. Since the duo has neither confirmed it nor denied it, many are questioning if it might resurface in the next season. Though the chances are very slim, one can never say anything with complete surety.

After all, this is no ordinary show. It is "Game of Thrones" and anything can happen in the dreadful and the diabolic Universe of Westeros.
