Renders and leaked details of the Google Nexus 2016 flagships are coming out in droves, indicating that release date of the Stock Android handsets is happening soon. But one thing that hints big time of an imminent rollout is the ongoing sale of the previous models - both the Nexus 5X and 6P have been discounted by no less than $100.

As pointed out by Android Police, the best deal available for the already affordable Nexus 5X can be found on B&H, which sells the black or white 5X for only $269 or $130 off the current price tag. The device comes with 32GB of on-board memory and general specifications that can sufficiently match its market rivals - powerful processor that is backed by 2GB of RAM and a camera combo of flagship class.

But the best thing about the LG-made Nexus 5X is it runs on vanilla Android and for users that would mean direct and quick access to software updates from Google.

Or Android fans can get the more premium and Huawei-built Nexus 6P instead, which Amazon, Best Buy and Newegg are pushing out with huge price cuts. As all configurations are given $100 off the current tag, the best deal on the table involves the 32GB 6P that is now down to $399 with color options of Gold, Silver and Graphite.

And for its significantly reduced asking price, the Nexus 6P promises top-notch Android mobile experience with its headline specs of a 5.7-inch AMOLED display, a 12-megapixel rear shooter and the brute power within that is fired up by the tandem of Snapdragon 810 chip and 3GB of RAM.

And like its slightly smaller sibling Nexus 5X, the Nexus 6P struts around with the latest Android version, which certainly will jump to Android 7.0 Nougat the moment the OS becomes available.

The packages that the Nexus 5X and 6P, no doubt, are tempting enough but more so are the sequels that reportedly will be assembled by HTC. Codenamed for now as Nexus Sailfish and Marlin, Android Headlines said that the handsets are shaping up as clones of the 2016 flagship HTC 10, specifically the bigger Marlin.

The report pointed to blog site TechDroider as source of its information, which included a handset render that is claimed to be "90% accurate."

The Nexus 2016 flagships, rumors say, will be powered by Snapdragon 821 chip with 4GB of RAM and the release date will happen at the same time that Google is ready to deploy Android Nougat, set no later than August.
