With the increasing viewers of HBO fiction "Game of Thrones" in Latin America, NBC Universal's Telemundo has given a Latin makeover to the show.
Finding a replacement for legendary characters of a popular show is a huge responsibility. But Telemundo has dared to give Latino faces to the GoT characters. It has taken into consideration the stars from all professional grounds to make sure the best one is chosen for the most suitable roles in Latino GoT.
The E! Online partner selected Khaleesi Shakir as Daenerys Targaryen while Jennifer Lopez to roleplay Cersei Lannister. It will be surprising to see what reactions the fans give on the Latino makeover of the show. Besides popular Shakira and Lopez, the video also features star singer Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. In addition to these stars, you will also find Pitbull, Belinda, Juan Gabriel, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Elvis Crespo, Alejandra Guzman, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, J Balvin and Vicente Fernandez.
Telemundo also enjoyed translating some of the characters' names into Spanish, which included Jon Snow to Juan Nieve (nieve means snow). With "Game of Thrones" heading towards Westeros as its main location, around four million pay-TV viewers started watching the sixth season on HBO and HBO2. This gave a 29 percent hike to the season as compared to that of season five.
According to the television rating points, the last episode of "Game of Thrones" witnessed twinning of the viewing figures, which was far more than what was recorded in 2015. There has been no formal announcements made by the channel regarding the number of audiences but local reports have revealed that the viewing figures for the fiction show have increased hugely.
Rapid TV News reported that the availability of six seasons of GoT on HBO Go has attracted the audiences even more. This feature offers viewers to view the episodes on-demand via mobile screens and Xbox 360.
The seventh season of "Game of Thrones" is scheduled to hit the small screens in summer 2017, which will also be streamed on HBO Go for the fans and followers.
