Martin dropped names of additional characters who will be included in the upcoming season. When the moderator started mentioning names of characters, Martin directly answered "yes," "no" or "probably not," Hollywood Reporter reported. On the other hand, Mitchell and Hurd's characters will be introduced as members of a dark organization who sent Jane to the FBI, TV Line reported. During the SDCC conference, Martin confirmed Jane had been held in a CIA site where she was in detention for three months.

Hollywood Reporter added that the producer discussed a few details of season 2 saying, "The first episode back, you find out what Jane's real name is, what her background is...it's a very satisfying episode for our fans." Martin also added that they will be introducing Shepherd at some time this season. In addition, Jane will still be coping from the guilt of betraying her team last season.

The current situation of Mayfair was also raised during the conference. According to Ashley Johnson, who plays Patterson in the series, the exact situation of Mayfair is unsure as of this moment and will be unraveled as the season progresses. Patterson's first name was also asked during the session, to which Martin quickly responded there are things that needs to be kept unknown in the show as it is a mystery program.

Meanwhile, the show will be challenged in terms of ratings as "Blindspot" season 2 will start to air on Sept. 14, 10 pm right after "America's Got Talent." It will return back to its original timeslot starting Sept. 21.

More details are expected to be revealed in more than a month that is left before the season finally airs. For other details surrounding the second season of "Blindspot," watch the video clip below.
