"Arrow" season 5 executive producer Wendy Mericle recently opened up about Felicity Smoak's (Emily Bett Rickards) fate in the upcoming episodes.

While speaking with Zap2It, the exec said that Felicity will continue to be haunted by what happened to Havenrock in the previous season.

In season 4, Felicity mistakenly directed a missile to Havenrock and killed more than two million people.

When the hit The CW series returns, Felicity will continue to blame herself for what happened and doing so will affect her personal and professional life.

"She's really, in the beginning of the season, grappling with the fallout from what happened at Havenrock and that will be a huge focus for her in the first nine episodes," Mericle said.

Throughout the first nine episodes from "Arrow" season 5, Felicity will also soul-search on what she should do with her life. After all, Team Arrow is no longer like how it used to. Not to mention, she was recently fired from her own company.

"She's asking herself the same question that every other character on the show is this year, which is about legacy. I think it'll become, if she wants to back to Palmer Tech, and try to fight for that, if that's what she thinks her legacy should be, then she certainly will," the exec added.

Meanwhile, Felicity will also be preoccupied with helping Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) find and train new members of Team Arrow.

In season 4, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Thea (Willa Holland) decided to cut ties with Oliver. Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) is also no longer around after she was killed by Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

In other news, the filming for "Arrow" season 5 is still ongoing. Rickards, Queen and the rest of the cast members were recently photographed on set.

"Arrow" season 5 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET.
