An international "Gears of War 4" Pro Circuit to be hosted by Microsoft and The Coalition will offer a $1 million prize pool to winning players.
The upcoming "Gears of War" Pro Circuit eSports competition was announced during a live stream of the Major League Gaming's (MLG) North American open grand finals event, DualShockers reported. Microsoft and game developer The Coalition will hold the international competition to be operated by Gfinity and MLG.
The announcement trailer posted on the same gaming news site has also indicated that key live events will be held every one to two months until the end of 2016. Players can also participate in regional MLG game battles, as well as daily and weekly game tournaments. "Gears of Wars" pro points will be awarded to gamers who would participate in the events.
Players who will achieve high pro points ranking in their region will be able to compete in the game's international eSports competitions. Key tournament battles, as well as the Pro Circuit finals, will then be aired online on a weekly basis, as indicated in the announcement trailer. Some of the gaming personalities to be featured in the said weekly live showcases include both promising amateur players and professional gaming teams.
A few lucky gaming teams from North America, Latin America, Europe and Oceania will also be flown in to join "Gears of War 4" live events in various locations across the world. Avid gaming fans can witness their favorite teams compete against each other in tournaments to be held in cities such as Columbus, Las Vegas, as well as in Mexico, Paris and London. Winners of the upcoming "Gears of War 4" Pro Circuit can also bring home a huge prize with Xbox's starting cash prize pool of $1 million.
In other news, a special promotion posted on Amazon has given players an opportunity to enjoy the previous installments of the "Gears of War" franchise when pre-ordering "Gears of War 4," Attack of the Fanboy reported. Gamers who pre-order the soon-to-be-released gaming title can play four bonus games that include the first three installments of "Gears of War" including "Gears of War: Judgement." A special download code printed on a card has been included in the upcoming game's disc case.
However, the four bonus game offer is only available for a limited time, as indicated in the report. Amazon did not disclose the game promotion's validity date in its product listing.
"Gears of War 4" has been slated for release on Oct. 11 for PC and Xbox One.
