A recent online server attack made by a hacking group has prevented players from logging into Blizzard games such as "Overwatch."

Avid players of Blizzard's gaming titles such as "Overwatch," "Hearthstone" and "World of Warcraft" have recently experienced some difficulties entering the said games. The connectivity problem is said to be the work of the hacking group PoodleCorp that launched a DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack on Blizzard servers, Game Spot reported.

The said problem was identified by the game developer on Wednesday, Aug. 3. The game developer has even shared a message on Twitter to advise gamers of the issue. Blizzard posted on its official Twitter account that they have been monitoring the DDOS attack that has affected connectivity to the developer's BattleNet site.

A Blizzard representative has also shared a similar message in the game's forum, as indicated in the same report. The said representative wrote that the Blizzard team has been working hard to address the DDOS attack in the quickest time possible. The representative also asked for the fans' understanding and support during the games' recent connectivity issues.

Meanwhile, Blizzard has announced that its engineers have already resolved the issue. In a separate Twitter message, the game developer stated that the hacker's DDOS attack has already ended. Although, game technicians are still monitoring and investigating connectivity issues with a "World of Warcraft" server.

In other news, "Overwatch" recently received a system update to commemorate the Summer Olympics to be held in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro. An announcement posted by Blizzard on the game's website has enumerated some of the new skins, items and gaming event that players can enjoy.

The summer and Olympic-themed update includes seasonal loot boxes, as well as special Summer Games 2016 cosmetic items such as new skins, sprays, player icons, victory poses and more. A new summer event named the Lucioball has also been added to the game.

The said event will have gamers playing a futuristic soccer-like game. The team who has the higher score at the end of the four-minute game will be declared the winner. However, the new "Overwatch" summer event and special items will only be available until Aug. 22.
