Apple's MacBook retailers have resorted to giving great discounts on laptops, following their model deterioration and the diminishing number of sales made by the company. Analysts now believe that the MacBook is slowly approaching its death unless the company does something about it.

In the late quarter that ended in June, MacBook sales have dropped by 11 percent, which by statistical margin represents 0.5 million fewer sales as compared to the sales accumulated the same time in the previous year.

While apple has held the title of recording significant growth than the other PC makers in the past, tables are now turning with Asus, Hewlett-Packard, and Dell rising almost simultaneously in the laptop market. According to IDC, Apple's MacBook rival counterparts have seen positive progress through their years.

For instance, Asus was awarded the fourth position in PC shipments; this was a position ahead of the MacBook. Hewlett-Packard, on the other hand, has made a consistent 5 percent growth in each year.

At the same time, Apple has been busy putting more effort in the iPad and iPhone iOS system and undeniably forgetting about the MacBook. This could be attributed to the fact that none of the MacBook, both Pro and Air, has been redesigned in the physical aspect so as to give a different edge and touch of sleeker change.

Due to these reasons, authorized Apple resellers are selling both the iMac and Apple MacBook at discounts that reach up to three figures without tax and shipping charges included, Apple Insider reported. While the Apple retailers are engaging in the discount business, the speed at which the MacBook is fading is fast. For example, in the previous week, the Retina MacBook Pro 15-inch was being offered at a $400 discount, which is approximately 20.1 percent off the regular price.

In a conference of Apple's earnings, Apple CEO Tim Cook referred to the iPad Pro as, "an ultimate replacement device for customers switching from PC notebooks." However, the other PC makers have reportedly produced laptops, which are more exciting, trendy, and definably more affordable than apple.

As Apple has denied requests to comment on statements made, it is an assumption that they are busy coming up with strategies to elevate the Macbook back to where it belonged.
