According to the documentary's official Amazon page, it was inspired by the futuristic themes and ethical questions within the video game "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided."

The documentary video specifically explores the ethics and implications of implementing augmentation. Several medical experts in it provide their takes on Transhumanism and bionics. It also follows the lives of 12 people who are undergoing procedures in this new technology.

For those who want to watch the documentary, they can watch it exclusively through Amazon Video. The video can be watched for free to all users, but it will have ads. For Amazon Prime members, it will not have any ads at all as a privilege.

In other "Human by Design" related news, both the game publisher and news network hosted the first conference for the documentary. It was held in New York City on Aug. 3.

According to the official website of the conference, the one day event has brought different kinds of experts to the three panel discussions. The topics that were discussed were related to the intersection of technology and humanity. Another goal of the conference was to create an Ethical Framework that could serve as a way forward for augmentation guidelines.

One of the panels addressed how augmentation can be accessible to everyone. They wanted to clarify if augmentation is a human right.

Another panel discussed the difference between selective augmentations against a therapeutic one. The panelists explained to the audience who should have the final say on augmentation procedures, doctors, or individuals.

The third panel discussed the future of medical science with this new technology. It centered on what kind of technological advances will happen 10 years from now.

The conference ended with the presentation of the Code of Ethics on Human Augmentation, which was drafted by the Human by Design Board. This new Code is meant to have a deeper discussion of the issues of human augmentation, and how it is reflected in the views of different experts. It was created to help create the future of the industry.
