A day after the Seoul Gangnam Police applied with authorities to secure an arrest warrant against the first female accuser of South Korean actor Park Yoochun, the woman was detained right away.
Soompi reported that police officers brought into custody on Friday morning not only the accuser, tagged only by court documents as "A," but also her cousin who apparently was in connivance with the female accuser in allegedly blackmailing the embattled actor and falsely accusing him of sexual assault.
Police said the two were arrested because they are likely to leave South Korea. But authorities rejected the request of police to include in the arrest warrant A’s boyfriend.
The arrest of the woman paves the way for Park Yoochun to clear his name and, hopefully, still get back his singing and acting career. Three other women have accused the actor of the same charges, but the police had already dropped the rape charges against Park Yoochun.
However, he still would need to fight solicitation of prostitution and fraud charges that the police recommended be filed against the actor.
Because of the four accusations against Park Yoochun, the JYJ member was excluded by his agency, C-JeS Entertainment from the Membership Week fan meeting of the boy band on Sept. 9-11 at the Coex Hall in Gangnam, Seoul. It would leave band members Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu to have fun with their fans, minus Park Yoochun who would likely spend most of his time in court hearings until all the cases are solved.
