“Elder Scrolls: Legends” is now open for players to try out following Bethesda’s announcement of the open beta for PC users. The company made the announcement on QuakeCon which officially went underway today.

The collectible card game entered closed beta last April and previously required gamers to sign up. Now, gamers who are curious to see what “Elder Scrolls: Legends” has to offer can do so without hoping that they gain access.

“Elder Scrolls: Legends” was first revealed at E3 and is a strategy game developed by Dire Wolf Digital. To access the open beta, all gamers have to do now is download the free-to-play card game, Eurogamer reported.

The PC version will require gamers to use the Bethesda.net launcher. Gamers who are playing “Fallout Shelter” may already have the program but for those who don’t, you can download it here.

Despite being limited to a select few, “Elder Scrolls: Legends” has been drawing raves from gamers. In fact it is being christened as a probably contender to “Hearthstone”.

The reason behind it is because the two games share a lot in common. Gamers will be tasked to build a deck and play the game using creatures and spells. The goal is to try and reduce the life total of opponents from 30 to 0.

A notable difference on “Elder Scrolls: Legends” is the lane system used to split the board vertically as well as the ‘Prophecy’ cards which are free to play when drawn. Multiplayer options are available meaning players can play against the computer or with other human-controlled accounts.

While this should be good news to PC gamers, the wait for other versions remains unconfirmed. Mac, iOS and Android versions are expected to follow soon with beta testing phases unconfirmed.

“Elder Scrolls: Legends” is expected to be fully released later in 2016 across all platforms. Before that, gamers are urged to take advantage of the beta phase since they can collect cards without shelling a dime, PC Gamer reported.
