According to speculations, Bloom may snatch the lead part from Depp in the upcoming fifth instalment. It is stated that the movie would revolve around the story of Will Turner (Bloom) and his son Henry, as it would highlight the struggles on how this two people would find a way to reconnect and fix the rift between their father-son relationship.

People are also convinced that Bloom may really be the star in the film because he is the one seen going around promoting it, although Disney hasn't released any statement to confirm it.

Depp's character Captain Jack Sparrow became one of the iconic characters in the film. Though the actor was once named as a Box office charmer, critics states that he may be losing his charm since a lot of controversies are surrounding him now. With that said, it may be more practical for "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" to cast a younger actor for the lead role.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" may be the last of the franchise where Bloom and Depp would be seen together.

Reports claim that following the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales," the next instalment would be a reboot - a possible reason why Disney opted to cast younger characters such as Brenton Thwaites (to play Henry Turner) and Kaya Scodelario (to play Carina Smyth). It is said that they were not only introduced as new characters for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" reboot, but also to attract younger audiences.

News about an upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean" reboot started when Bloom gave out a statement during one of his interviews, saying "Basically they want to reboot the whole franchise, I think, and do something with me and the relationship with my son."
