After a rigorous analysis, analysts have assumed that there is a possibility that Apple may do away with the MacBook Air in 2016. This owes to the company's focus on the MacBook Pro. In addition, the upcoming MacBook Pro is expected to come with a new design and entirely fresh features.

Following the lack of an upgraded MacBook Air over the years, Apple is rumored to end the production of the series instead of upgrading it. This move could be attributed to the fact that when compared to the Retina MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air lineup makes minimal sales.

Therefore, more focus and concentration on the Retina MacBook Pro by Apple designers would be a likely move. According to Apple Insider, there is a high probability that MacBook Pro 2016 will have a completely new design.

The design is assumed to be slimmer and lighter due to a trend displayed by Apple in making their devices thinner with every physical upgrade. Apart from this, the new MacBook Pro could feature four type-C USB ports without a MagSafe.

This strategy implies that just like the 12-inch MacBook, the new gadget could provide data as well as power through the USB. In addition, the redesigned MacBook Pro would feature an Apple Pencil incorporated with an engaged trackpad.

The Apple Pencil, which was introduced in 2015, would have two sensor-active opposing ends and an elongated body. The laptop would also have a 5K Thunderbolt display together with an integrated GPU.

The device is, further, speculated to contain an Intel Skylake processor along with a RAM of 8GB and a 1TB hard disk for storage. More specs for the 2016 MacBook Pro include an OLED touch bar accompanied by an integrated fingerprint sensor.

Other than eliminating the line of function buttons, the integrated fingerprint sensor would be used to access the device. Further rumors imply that the MacBook Pro would identify its user through their apple watch by automatically unlocking once the user is in a particular range, Mobile & Apps reported.

While the 2016 MacBook Pro is expected to be launched by November, fans hope to spot the rumored features of the laptop earlier. Watch the video below on more of what to expect with the next MacBook Pro:
