DC and Marvel, two of the largest comic book publishers in the world, had both just released two brilliant films that featured a large star-studded ensemble outside "The Avengers" and "Justice League", namely, "Suicide Squad" (SS) and "Guardians of the Galaxy" (GOTG). But which film is better among the two, and ultimately deserving of the throne?

DC's most recent film features one of the most interesting antihero lineups ever, which also features the first appearance of Harley Quinn in a live action adaptation of the character in the comic books. Had GOTG not been released, there is a chance we will not get to see it. Notably, the DC counterpart has also defeated GOTG at the box office record, according to IGN.

As for comparing both films, they both consist of incredible character development and film scores. In terms of musicality and soundtrack, GOTG may be superior, but SS appears to have better development with their characters, realistically speaking. One good example is the bar scene.

Both villains of the film appear to be lacklustre, considering that Enchantress was just overpowered while Ronan literally loses his mind. The ensemble of the heroes, on the other hand, were done quite well, and all actors who were part of their respective films delivered an excellent performance.

When it comes to their ratings among critics, GOTG was overwhelmingly and more universally acclaimed, boasting a rate of 91 percent while its DC counterpart, SS, received negative feedback and received only 26 percent. The reason for this, according to the consensus of critics in Rotten Tomatoes, is that the film's outstanding cast was not enough to save the film from its lacklustre ending and shoddy plot.

Recently, the two comic publishers have both been releasing a series and collection of films that all pertain to their respective universes. DC Extended Universe brandishes new Superman films with "Batman V. Superman" and "Man of Steel", while the MCU has gained success with "Captain America: Civil War" and is about to launch one of its most interesting and grotesque films to date, "Doctor Strange."

The video below is an interesting fan-made trailer in which the two films were mashed up together.
