“Descendants of the Sun” actress Song Hye Kyo has still a good chance of winning the "Goddess of Asia" title, although in the last tally, she slipped to 6th from 2nd place. However, with a few more weeks before the contest ends, she may still end up winner.
One title that the actress would hesitate to accept is “Goddess of the Sea” because Song Hye Kyo has a fear of swimming in the sea, reported South China Morning Post. Although the actress is a beach lover who frequents the seaside during summer, she limits herself to enjoying the scenery from the shores.
When it is really hot and humid, she would still not go to the sea for a swim but would go for a dip in a swimming pool. In “Descendants of the Sun,” there was a scene when the vehicle she was riding was about to fall from a cliff into the sea.
While Song Joong-ki, who played opposite Song Hye Kyo’s character, joined her in plunging with the car and then brought her out of the vehicle into the beach. But the vehicle plunge was cut briefly, and there was not a scene showing the two escaping from the sinking vehicle.
With “Descendants of the Sun” over and amid speculations that she would not be in Season 2 and the movie version unconfirmed, the actress uses her free time traveling to Paris, Italy, New York – where she has an expensive flat – and Jeju-do in South Korea.
It is not surprising that she could afford to do that because the actress is worth millions after 20 years in the industry.
