Stephen Hawking, 73, took to Facebook to congratulate "The Theory Of Everything" actor Eddie Redmayne, 33, for his 2015 Aacdemy Awards Best Actor win.

"Congratulations to Eddie Redmayne for winning an ‪#‎Oscar for playing me in The Theory of Everything Movie. Well done Eddie, I'm very proud of you. -SH," Hawking wrote in his Facebook page. In less than 24 hours, the post has received more than 160,000 likes.

Prior to the 2015 Oscar Awards night, Hawking also wrote in his Facebook page about the London Science Museum tour he gave to Visit London competition winner. He said the museum fuel his fascination with physics and he hopes "those who visit are similarly inspired by the human ingenuity, curiosity and achievement on display."

Redmayne beat "Birdman" actor Micahel Keaton, "American Sniper" actor Bradley Cooper, "The Imitation Game" actor Benedict Cumberbatch and "Foxcatcher" actor Steve Carell.

Upon winning the award, Redmayne told People he plans to visit Hawking. His co-star Felicity Jones, who played Hawking's wife, was also nominated for the Best Actress award along with "Gone Girl" actress Rosamund Pike, "Wild" actress Reese Witherspoon, "Two Days, One Night" actress Marion Cotillard and "Still Alice" actress Julianne Moore, who won the trophy.

Based on the memoir of Hawking's wife titled "Travelling To Infinity: My Life With Stephen," "The Theory Of Everything" was also nominated for Best Picture but lost to "Birdman."

Anthony McCarten wrote the screenplay of "The Theory Of Everything" while James March directed the film, which also starred Emily Watson, Tom Prior, Harry Lloyd, David Thewlis, Thomas Morrison, Lucy Chappell, Charlotte Hope, Brett Brown, Simon McBurney and Nicholas Gerard-Martin, among others.
