After the release of well-accepted Xiaomi Redmi 3 and its sub-units in 2015, a database of Chinese benchmarking website Geekbench revealed that an upcoming successor for the unit, named Xiaomi Redmi 4, will be slated for release and will run an impressive Snapdragon 625 chip.

Geekbench shows that the Redmi 4 stacked a single-core score of 929 and  multi-core score of 4751, surpassing the specs of its predecessors Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3, GSMArena reported.

As per Mobipicker, the device consists of eight Cortex-A53 cores equipped at 2GHz, coupled with an impressive Adreno 506 GPU, perfect for gaming. As an addition, the device supports LTE Cat 7 connectivity as an upgrade from Cat 4, backed by 3GB of RAM and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with  MIUI8.

Aside for the aforementioned specs that put the device ahead of other Redmi's, Redmi 4 displays other features such as 5-inch IPS LCD Display, 1920 x 1080 resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octacore Adreno 506 GPU, and a 4100mAh battery capacity with Quick Charge feature.

Meanwhile, the device is expected at a price of CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000), Gadget360 reported.

Looking at the features, the Redmi 4 will put up a good competition against other high-end handsets through its affordability and decent specifications. Rumor has it that the Redmi 4 will be announced on Aug. 25.

Apart from the release of Xiaomi Redmi 4, the Chinese database website tipped a launch of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 on the same month of Redmi 4's release. The device maybe launched in two variants priced at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 25,000) for the 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage model, and a 128GB storage model priced at CNY 2,799 (approximately Rs. 28,000). Some of the innards of the Mi Note 2 claimed by the tipster include Amoled display, Snapdragon 821 SoC, 3600mAh battery, metal body, and fingerprint scanner.
