The "Winds of Winter" release date is not happening until next year, specifically in the first few months of 2017, a new report said, adding that the new book will likely hint of fresh story arcs that focus on Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. It's possible that George R.R. Martin's new book will be out before the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 premiere.

HBO has indicated that GoT will return slightly later than usual and according to BryndenBFish, Martin's follow up to the "Dance with Dragons" will be sitting on store shelves months before. BryndenBFish was described by GoT fan site WinterIsComing.net as "a prolific A Song of Ice and Fire theorist."

"I looked at it by analyzing George's writing speed for Dance with Dragons, and I still tend to see early 2017 as a potential date for when the book might come out," the report quoted BryndenBFish as saying.

As Game of Thrones is already ahead of Winds of Winter, GoT fans would assume that the show already spoiled a substantial portion of the book. But the theorist is convinced that Martin will still deliver new things that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will use.

One example is that of Stannis Baratheon, who remains alive and kicking in the book version. In Game of Thrones, Stannis will live through Jon Snow - the former's continuing exploits will be told instead employing the expanding Jon Snow story arc. Snow increasing even more his presence on future GoT episodes is hardly surprising as the once known as Ned Stark bastard is now the King in the North.

And Jon, in fact, is not only a high-breed but also a royalty being the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.

GRRM will surely dig deeper on the Rhaegar-Lyanna affair. "I think Jon Snow's mother being Lyanna Stark and his father being Rhaegar Targaryen will most likely be explicitly confirmed in the books as it has already been on the show," BryndenBFish said.

Consequently, more details on Jon Snow - his origin and hints of where he is headed - will be revealed.

BryndenBFish also touched on Daenerys Targaryen, who was last seen leading an impending invasion of Westeros. The big question that currently nags GoT fans is: Will Daenerys become a murderous Mad Queen like his father was?

The Khaleesi ending up as a bad person seems a monumental cliché, BryndenBFish said as a way of shooting down the prevailing theory on Daenerys.

"It would be almost cliché if Daenerys went from being a good person to being an out-and-out villain. I don't think that's the way that George has written characters and I don't think it's the way that he's going to write Daenerys," the Game of Thrones theorist said.
