"Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams, the actress who plays the role of Arya Stark, would love to direct one day, "if a right project comes along" her way. The actress was speaking during an interview when she revealed her fascination for direction.
"I just love listening to them, and watching them, and if the right project came along, I would want to direct," the 19-year-old told Deadline. "I really do think I'd enjoy it."
Williams revealed that she tends to observe directors all the time. She has admittedly studied Mark Mylod, who is best known for directing a couple of episodes in "Game of Thrones" Season 5 and Season 6.
The young actress also talked about P.J. Dillon by saying that he was the first one to "light" her as a woman and not as a child. Dillon was the director of photography of the episodes "No One" and "The Broken Man" in the last season.
Talking about her life post-"Game of Thrones," the actress said that she would like for things to "happen organically." The hit HBO show is set for just 13 more episodes that will be spread over two seasons.
Speaking further on her association with the HBO's hit fantasy series, Williams revealed that she still has not read George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series of novels, on which the show is based. She said that her mother deemed the book as "inappropriate" when the role was offered to her at the first time.
Williams famously landed her acting gig as the child warrior Arya Stark, a role that has earned her critical acclaim in the entertainment industry, when she was just 12 years old. After bagging several awards, including BBC Radio 1 Teen Award for Best British Actress and Screen Actors Guild Award, she has now finally earned a nomination for a 2016 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She will be competing with her fellow castmates, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke.
