Dragon Quest XI has officially been confirmed for the Nintendo NX with a release date on May 27, 2017 which is a month away from the console's expected launch date.

Electronic Arts, one of the largest video game publishers, has also expressed their interest in the video game console. While there has been no confirmation yet, EA could develop AAA games for the said console such as Battlefield 1, Mass Effect Andromeda and others.

Nintendo is known for their consoles having more than plenty JRPG games. Series creator Yuji Horii announced that Dragon Quest XI will indeed be coming to the Nintendo NX, Crunchyroll News has learned. The highly anticipated sequel will also be making its way for the Nintendo 3DS and the PlayStation 4 next year.

Obviously, the game will be released across all the said platforms at the same time. Horii does not want other players to be spoiled if one platform receives the game earlier than the others.

Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time is slated for release in Japan on May 2017. The international version release date has not been disclosed yet by the developers.

EA COO Peter Moore has recently renewed his support for the Nintendo NX but has failed to confirm whether they will still be developing anything for the hybrid console, Express.co.uk reported. The publisher could be busy gearing up for the Battlefield 1 launch and for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda video game.

Nintendo NX news has been quite the rollercoaster ride in the past few weeks. Several reports claimed that the console will only be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra processor which is used in SHIELD tablets.

The reports mean to say that the Nintendo NX will once again be the underpowered console. Sony has the PlayStation Neo and Microsoft has the Project Scorpio which are claimed to be able to provide "true 4K" gaming.

More games for the Nintendo NX would hopefully appear soon as the release date nears. Dragon Quest XI is just one and EA's renewal of support for the console could mean good things for the development of more video game titles.
