Blizzard has finally restored their servers in working order after a DDoS attack took them down but some features in several games are still disabled due to the mishap.

The game company has announced on their official Twitter account that they are monitoring a DDoS attack that was unleashed on their network providers. Blizzard added that the attack messed with the latency and connection quality of the players to their games such as Overwatch, World of Warcraft and Hearthstone.

While the servers have been restored, there are still some game features that are disabled. Hacker collective PoodleCorp claimed that they were the ones who conducted the DDoS attack against Blizzard servers, Kotaku has learned.

Unfortunately, there is no direct method of confirming whether they are the ones behind the attack or not. They are allegedly angry because they were caught by Blizzard cheating and their accounts have been banned.

During the downtime of the servers before it was fixed at 10:00 AM, players found it hard to connect to Blizzard's games. Overwatch players were interrupted at the final day of the Summer games series which ends at 7:00 PM ET, GameSpot reported.

The servers are up and running already but there are some in-game features that are still disabled. For instance, Hearthstone's game shop is still disabled and players cannot buy new card packs to get rare cards for their decks.

In April, Blizzard was also victim to another DDoS attack from Lizard Squad. The hacker group has also claimed several hacking attacks against the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

Some players also think that Blizzard was just messing with the players as part of a publicity stunt for the new Overwatch hero Sombra. The 23rd hero is supposed to be a hacker which could explain the DDoS attacks although no announcement from Blizzard has been made yet regarding the matter.

Blizzard games are now back to their normal state with some features still disabled. Overwatch, Hearthstone and World of Warcraft players can go back to strengthening their classes or characters to take on other players across the globe.
