Microsoft surface pro 5 release is reportedly scheduled for early 2017 although its announcement will ensue much earlier in Oct. this year.
There have been a few leaks regarding Microsoft surface pro 5. One of the most significant ones has been the speculation of the laptop being behind for the delay in the release of Windows 10 update known as the Redstone-or RS2.
Apparently, Enthusiasts hope that the laptop will showcase features of RS2. Besides that, the new surface Pro 5 is expected to maintain a 12.3 inch pixel sense display, like that of its predecessors.
However, it will come with revolutionary changes, which include a 4k Ultra HD variant resolution display and a 2K resolution display, CNET reported. It is further speculated that the top-end variant of the Surface Pro 5 will have a RAM of 16GB.
This will further be boosted by an Nvidia Pascal GPU to take the laptop's graphics to the next level. What is more, the device will have an upgraded Surface pen. It will be possible to pack the pen in a rechargeable battery, which further supports wireless charging if it is attached to the tablet magnetically.
According to PC Advisor, Surface Pro 5 will also have the latest generation of Intel processor. But it is still unclear whether the processor will be the sixth generation Skylake chip or the codenamed seventh generation Kaby Lake.
Another expected upgrade is a USB-C port. This will be an upgrade from the current USB 3.0 port on the Surface Pro 4. USB-C port can be used for charging in addition to fast data transfers.
To add icing on the cake, Wi-FI and Bluetooth technologies will also get an upgrade. Surface Pro 5 will come with the latest versions of WI-FI with MU-MIMO support and Bluetooth, not forgetting the cameras.
In the meantime, Microsoft will resolve the surface pro 4 battery problem using a software update. The company had previously reported that the battery problems experienced by surface pro 4 users was a software related problem and users should, therefore, not replace their devices and wait on the pending update.
Microsoft forum moderator, Panos Panay, communicated that they were working on a software that would fix the problem as soon as the updates pass their quality assurance process. Watch the clip below for more updates:
