Fans got way too excited upon hearing Disney's confirmation that a sequel for their film "Frozen" is well on its way; however, ever since the announcement, no further news or details about the upcoming sequel has emerged. It is said that the lack of news about "Frozen 2" is caused by Disney's decision to focus their attention to 2 other movies that is scheduled to be released by 2017 and 2018.

Ecumenical News reported that Disney's planning to launch "The Beauty and the Beast" and "The Little Mermaid" first before they release "Frozen 2." It is stated that the company would not be able to release those 3 high budgeted movies in the span of 2 years, which is why they opted to choose which of the 3 movies to release first.

It is possible that "Frozen 2" would be delayed for a couple more years, which is quite understandable for an animated film. Though Disney hasn't confirmed what the possible story line for the upcoming sequel would be, a lot of fans have their own speculations on how the movie would turn out.

According to one speculation, there's a chance that Elsa and Anna might become enemies. It is stated that Anna would find out that she was an illegitimate child, which would cause her to rebel and would make her want to snatch the throne from her sister.

A lot of fans actually believed that this story line could be possible, especially when the actress who lends her voice to Elsa, Idina Menzel, gave out a statement saying that she thinks her character would still be part of the upcoming sequel, wherein she continued her statement with "That's all I know-unless maybe Elsa falls off an ice cliff and she dies in the first five minutes."

Movie News Guide also reported that the LGBT community also suggested a possible story line for the film.

LGBT suggested that Elsa's character would turn out to be a lesbian queen. In the first movie, Anna found her true love while Elsa didn't, which opened a lot of possibilities for her character, including diving in to the Queen's sexuality.

Although Disney hasn't shown any interest upon LGBT's suggestion, Chris Buck stated that the upcoming "Frozen 2" would tackle some of the major issues that the world is facing today. Buck even stated "We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with. I think we're very aware of what is happening in society."

Up until today, the exact release date of "Frozen 2" is still undetermined.
