Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system was released recently by Google through the Nexus devices that include Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Nexus 9, Pixel C devices and across the Android One smartphone General Mobile 4G. However, it may take some time before the newly-launched mobile OS finally lands to Samsung devices.

The older versions of Google Nexus such as the Google Nexus 7 of 2013 and Google Nexus 5 are reportedly not going to receive the new Android 7.0 Nougat. Samsung is believed to limit the release of the Android 7.0 Nougat update as well to their smartphones.

Samsung reportedly plans to release the new Android Nougat 7.0 for its flagship devices on the  last quarter of the year. This could be an indication that the mobile operating system will be arriving to the Samsung phones between October and December, according to Sam Mobile.

Only selected Samsung devices will be getting the OS update. Among these devices are Samsung S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Edge Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S7, and Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung Galaxy J3.

The new Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade is likewise expected to arrive to Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The latest device is going to be the first Samsung smartphone to carry the new mobile OS.

The news that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will receive the update is what Samsung users have been waiting for, since the device is claimed as the best smartphone of the company. It will happen during the two months following the formal launch of the Android 7.0 Nougat, Engadget reported.

Although there are still plenty of smartphones that operate on Android operating system that are yet to get the new Android 7.0 Nougat, the mobile OS update is still being expected to come in the following months. The smartphone manufacturers, however, have not made any announcement yet regarding a particular date on the possible release of the new update.
