At last, Netflix has confirmed that the hit TV series, "Stranger Things" is getting a much-requested Season 2 and is set for release in 2017. However, it looks like Eleven may no longer be around according to the Duffer brothers.

Netflix announced the show's renewal on Wednesday, and it looks like the second season will have nine episodes compared to first season's eight. The title of the first episode is "Madmax," followed by "The Boy Who Came Back to Life," "The Pumpkin Patch," "The Palace," "The Storm," "The Pollywog," "The Secret Cabin," "The Brain" and "The Lost Brother."

The story is set to continue right where it left off and the possibility of an anthology has been debunked by Ross Duffer. According to the show's creator, there are still plenty of mysteries left unresolved.

"I don't think we ever thought anthology. I think we talked like a larger time jump where the kids are older now and it's a different decade," Duffer told Entertainment Weekly.

Majority of the cast are also set to return. However, the probability of Millie Bobby Brown returning as Eleven remains uncertain. The telepathic child sacrificed herself in order to save her friends from the Demi-Gorgon, although it was not revealed if she died in the process.

"We don't know about Eleven," Duffer said when asked of Bobby Brown returning to "Stranger Things" Season 2. "We leave that up in the air."

Although this may bum some fans, Duffer assured there will be four new characters that will spice things up. He hinted that the episode titled "The Lost Brother" may feature one of these new characters. He also confirmed that the setting will no longer be limited to Hawkins and there will also be a return trip to the Upside Down.

"There's going to be a lot of new and interesting dynamics that we didn't see in season 1," he said. Duffer also said that Season 2 is modelled to some of director James Cameron's work like "Temple of Doom," "Aliens" and "Terminator 2."

Meanwhile, the kids shared their predictions on what they think will happen in "Season 2," USA Today reported. Actor Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers) are predicting that Will eventually will turn to a monster, who was seen spitting a slug in the finale. Here is the teaser for "Stranger Things" Season 2.
