Sony has unveiled its new smartphones, Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact at IFA 2016 event in Berlin. The Sony Xperia XZ is the second flagship from the Japanese company and it is believed to be the successor of Xperia X.
Both the smartphones come with a new refreshing design as they are built with ALKALEIDO aluminum alloy. Their sleek appeal and rounded edges offer a premium appeal to both the devices. Since they are IP68 certified devices, both devices offer dust and water resistance.
Sony Xperia XZ Compact Specifications & Features
The Xperia XZ has a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels like other flagship smartphones from Sony. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and with 3GB of RAM.
It comes with inbuilt storage of 32 GB and it also supports external storage of up to 200GB via microSD. It has a 23-megapixel rear camera and 13-megapixel front-facing camera.
The new Xperia XZ has a Type-C USB and a fingerprint reader. It is equipped with a 2,900 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0, NDTV reported.
Sony Xperia XZ Pricing & Launch Date
The Xperia XZ will be available Mineral Black, Forest Blue, and Platinum color variants. It will launch in the U.S. from Oct. 23, 2016. The pricing of the smartphone will be announced prior to its launch date.
In the U.K, it is now available with a preorder price of 599 euros ($672). The Sony Xperia XZ release date for the U.K is not mentioned yet.
Sony Xperia X Compact Specifications & Features
Sony Xperia X Compact has a 4.6-inch display and it produces an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 650 chipset that features hexa-core 2.1 GHz processor and Adreno 510 graphics. It is coupled with 3GB of RAM.
The Xperia X Compact has a rear camera of 23-megapixel. It does not include support for 4K video shooting. It has a front-facing camera of 5-megapixel, GSMArena reported. It supports USB Type-C port and the adaptive Quick Charge of 2.0.
Sony Xperia X Compact Pricing & Launch Date
Sony Xperia X Compact will be priced around $400-$500 in the U.S. and it will be launching on Sept. 25, 2016. It is available in Universe Black, Mist Blue, and White.
The Sony Xperia X Compact is available on preorders in the U.K with a pricing of 379 euros ($425). Its release date in the U.K is Sept. 28.
