Warner Bros has finally announced that the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat XL will be coming to the PC through Steam which will include the Kombat Pack 2 DLC for Mortal Kombat X.

PC gamers have been disappointed when NeverRealm Studios failed to bring the Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 DLC for the platform despite having Mortal Kombat X released on the PC. Now, they seem to have heard what the public wants and is bringing the game for the PC through Valve's Steam platform.

NeverRealm Studios is not handling the Mortal Kombat XL PC port but rather Qloc who has a good track record of the recent Capcom PC ports such as Dead Rising and the DmC: Devil May Cry reboot, Destructoid has learned. One disappointing thing is that players on PC will not be getting the game and Kombat Pack 2 for free despite having already purchased Mortal Kombat X.

The Mortal Kombat X game on PC will get the free update which fixes most of the bugs and glitches still plaguing the port. Mortal Kombat XL, Kombat Pack 2 and the patches will arrive on October 4 through Steam so players should get their hard drives ready for the update and if they want to purchase the upgraded game.

Game Producer Ed Boon has already teased Mortal Kombat XL for the PC in the past through his social media accounts. However, it was just later confirmed when a demo of the game briefly appeared on Steam.

Qloc announced the new Mortal Kombat XL and Kombat Pack 2 DLC PC port instead of NeverRealm Studios, GameSpot reported. For those who are unfamiliar, the new version of the game includes several more characters and skins that are otherwise not present in the base game alone.

For instance, Jason Voorhees and Predator joins the playable characters in Mortal Kombat XL. Both Qloc and Warner Bros did not announce a price for the game yet but the console versions of the game cost $60 which could mean that the same price can carry over for the PC gamers through Steam when it and the Kombat Pack 2 DLC launches in October.
