Just weeks after puffing on a suspicious cigarette at Chicago's Lollapalooza, President Barack Obama's daughter Malia Obama seems to be now taking the moral high ground. The teenager was recently clicked wearing a T-shirt with the words "Smoking kills" printed on it at a music festival in Philadelphia on Sept. 4, Sunday.

The 18-year-old was pictured with a friend at the Budweiser Made in America Festival, with the wise message displayed on the front of her top. She also sported crimson baseball hat with an H on it, seemingly a nod to her future alma mater, Daily Mail reported. She is reportedly taking a gap year and will attend Harvard in 2017.

Malia was spotted walking among the crowd at the music festival. The event's lineup included Coldplay, Edward Sharpe and Chance the Rapper. She was seen earlier with the rapper in 2014's  Lollapalooza.

The teenager has been embroiled in a pot smoking scandal after a footage was released of her smoking at the Lollapalooza music festival in late July. The pictures became even more scandalous since the first daughter was accused of attending the Chicago event instead of joining her parents for the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

"I caught Malia smoking pot and I have the pictures to prove it," Inquisitr quoted a witness as saying. "You could smell the marijuana smoke."

Images of Malia taking a drag and twerking at the festival became viral online. Not only the images caused a stir on social media, her accomplice, Taylor Bennett, is also said to have a criminal past.

Recent report stated that Bennett tested positive in two drug tests in the weeks before he was seen with Malia at Lollapalooza. He is reportedly on probation after pleading no contest to aggravated battery in April. The 20-year-old was accused of violently beating a man at a party in 2014 that resulted in "bleeding on the brain." His father is reportedly a former aide to President Obama.

Malia is known to have suffered from asthma. Her father has famously recounted in the past how scared he was when she had trouble breathing at just four years old. Smoking does present additional risks for asthma sufferers, as it can trigger attacks in addition to the usual long-term effects.
