While Apple remained inactive on Twitter since it joined the social media website in 2011, its sudden participating in tweeting announcements has grabbed focus.

The unexpected activity commenced by the technology ace seems to be a promotional strategy to remind about the event that it would undertake to launch the brand new iPhone 7. Though the post is unofficial and it is not visible on the official page of Apple, the twitter users are able to see the update regarding the grand launch. "September 7 at 10 a.m. PDT. Watch the event on Apple.co/live. RT for a reminder on event day. #AppleEvent", the tweet stated.

Apple's Twitter account did not only post a tweet but also emerge in a completely new avatar with a background image. The company's account did not have profile or background image earlier and hence a default picture of an "Egg" appeared on the account. Moreover, the account has received a verified status that remained on halt as it was inactive for a long time. Apple's account, however, still has no 0 tweets.

According to Independent UK, the messages have come up as Apple has allegedly bought sponsored tweets that post its message without even showing it up on the company's timeline.  As a result of this, the tweet only appears when it is paid-for, which indicates that Apple is paying to tweet without officially tweeting it.

Though @Apple remained unused by the company and hence had to get verified again after being declared inactive, its other accounts were still active. The active Apple accounts included @AppleNews, @AppStore, @AppleMusic, AppleSupport, and @AppleNewsUK.

Prior to this, Samsung used the trick to promote its new brand in February. Along with promoting the event via its unofficial posts, the company has also bought a custom hashtag emoji for the members to tweet. It is also accompanied by an auto responder.

Apple's Twitter account had 65,000 followers but now, as reported by Indian Express, it has over 2,80,000 followers.
