Following the success of "GTA 5" that was released back in 2013, avid fans of the "GTA" franchise are now clamoring for the release of the sixth installment. In fact, rumors have been rife that Rockstar Games may be gearing up to release "GTA 6" on Sept. 7 at Sony-centric PlayStation meeting.

Fans have joined the hype this week, as the game developer will reportedly announce a new AAA title this month, according to Value Walk. Many are hoping that Rockstar Games announces "GTA 6" at the imminent Sony-centric PlayStation meeting slated for Sept. 7.

However, it is very unlikely that the video game developer will release the sixth installment in the "GTA" franchise. It is expected that Rockstar release "GTA 6" sometime in 2018. This will be in line with the company's general trend of 4-5 year.

In case Rockstar Games decides to follow the same timeline, gamers should expect "GTA 6" to be released in 2018. If the game will not come out this year, it is very likely that the studio will reveal the game during E3 2017.

Meanwhile, a new "Red Dead Redemption" installment is among the much-awaited games from Rockstar. The success of "Red Dead Redemption 1" back in 2010 has triggered desire for the launch of a follow-up sequel. While it is six years since the release of the original "Red Dead Redemption, the game developer is completely mum on the subject.

Considering the span of time between now and the release of the first title, a "Red Dead Redemption 2" reveal is very promising, according to a different report by the same publication. Furthermore, the first title has made it as among the Xbox One backwards compatibility games, which is a subtle hint that the second installment will likely come down the pipeline soon.

There are also rumors about a new "GTA 5" DLC. Still, Rockstar has kept information about the project under complete wrap. The game developer instead releases waves of new content for the game every year as opposed to an expanded story offering.

Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two, has confirmed that there will be new content for "GTA 5" until spring 2017. Whether the game developer will release "Red Dead Redemption" or "GTA 5" DLC, fans will still be happy.
