Michael Schumacher, Formula One legend has a received a visit from his former team-mate Felipe Massa who had announced his retirement from the sport sometimes ago. Aside from the sluggish recovery that Schumacher has been going, no new updates of the Formula One (F1) legend.

Massa made the retirement announcement from the sport ahead of this weekend's Italian Grand Prix, where his mentor Schumacher announced he was quitting F1 at the same event almost four years ago, Express reported. Massa's retirement was allegedly seen as a sort of homage to the major influence that inspired him to enter the high-octane scene of F1 racing.

During the event, Massa hailed the seven-time world champion, who was injured in a very serios ski accident in the Alps almost three years ago, as a "huge influence" on his career.

In his speech, he said he decided to make the announcement there, since Michael announced his retirement at the same place as well. "He was a huge influence in my career and a really good friend," Massa noted.

Meanwhile, Gerd Kramer, the one-time sports marketing executive of Mercedes and Schumacher's first sponsor mentioned last week in an interview that would take a "miracle" for Schumacher to be seen in public again now that his current health state is undisclosed by his family.

Kramer gave a sobering analysis of Schumacher's condition, saying: "He is in a more than difficult situation."

According to CNN, prior to Kramer's rather distressing statement, Luca di Montezemolo, former Ferrari chairman mentioned some months ago that the legendary F1 competitor was responding quite well to the medications and rehabilitation that he is current under despite the request of family members to keep the racer's state under wraps.

Earlier on, neurological consultant Dr. Peter Hamlyn had reported that the racer's road to recovery will be quite long and painstaking. Hamlyn also added that the rehabilitation that has been draining Schumacher's career earnings will only restore a fraction of his health, adding that the racer's recovery from that horrifying ordeal was indeed a miracle.

Meanwhile, fans are still praying and keeping their fingers crossed for the speedy recovery of the Formula One champion.
