For a long time, Sara believed Michael was dead. As a matter of fact Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies) is now living with her new husband, Scott Ness (Mark Feuerstein). News of Michael's current condition shocks Sara, and Michael's brother, Lincoln (Dominic Purcell), sets out to break him out of prison in Yemen.

In "Prison Break" Season 5, it will be explained that Michael was taken by an organization and taken to Yemen. His expertise in prison-breaking landed him an opportunity to work with a terrorist group. But this new arrangement didn't exactly end well for Michael, as he ends up behind bars again.

At the 2016 San Diego Comic Con, actor Wentworth Miller said that his character, Michael, is still very much in love with Sara. Miller stated that Sara is still Michael's "emotional bull's-eye." He's going to do everything it takes to win back Sara. But it's not going to come easy, especially as Sara discovers that Michael is already a changed man. Even his brother, Lincoln, will find it difficult to adjust to his new personality.

"The question is, once he gets there will she even recognize him? Is he still the man she fell in love with? Because he has done some dark things and walked some shady roads, so my question is, and it was interesting to play, does Michael deserve that happy ending?" Miller said in an interview with TVLine.

For sure Sara and Michael's reunion will be very emotional, especially for fans who've waited so long to see their love story continue. But will it be a happy ending for the couple?

Meanwhile, "Prison Break" creators promised a "logical and believable explanation" as to how Michael is still alive, Movie Pilot reports. In recall, Michael was thought to have died after he save Sara from prison. He also left a video that indicated how his health condition is shortening his life.

"Prison Break" Season 5 is expected to launch early in 2017 as part of Fox's midseason slate. It will air every Thursday night.

Original cast members Amaury Nolasco, Rockmond Dunbar and Theodore Bagwell are also reprising their roles in the highly-awaited "Prison Break" reboot.
