Pangu came out with a surprise iOS 9.3.4 jailbreak last month though that was short-lived following the release of iOS 9.3.5. The latest OS was meant to address security vulnerabilities, eventually patching up the last working iOS jailbreak.

Moving forward, Pangu is likely to be working on an iOS 10 jailbreak instead. Coming up with an iOS 9.3.5 jailbreak makes little sense since it will eventually be patched in a couple of weeks. iOS 10 is set to be rolled out starting Sept. 13 alongside other Apple operating systems, ZDNet reported.

Hence, iOS 9.3.5 is technically an operating system that got away clean. But much of that was not Pangu’s fault since it did come out unannounced thanks to Citizen Lab.

Citizen Lab brought the matter of exploits to Apple, something that was reportedly being taken advantage of by an Israeli group called NSO. As mentioned in a previous post, this had to do with that controversial “Pegasus” issue where hackers could do their mischief on Apple device owners.

With that out of the way, the focus right now is on how fast Pangu is able to deliver on an iOS 10 jailbreak. The word out is that they could release an iOS 10 jailbreak by October. The next question is how long will that be useful to the Apple jailbreaking community.

Apple has been keeping tabs on the releases iOS jailbreaks and has managed to patch them up in a timely fashion. The thing to note here is that after iOS 10, Pangu has not announced future jailbreaks for succeeding versions.

As for the iOS 10, a hacker named Luca Todesco has allegedly garnered some success jailbreak the beta 8 version of iOS 10. He used the yaluX method on his iPad Pro to achieve the jailbreak which Pangu claims is no different from what they were able to do before.

With iOS 10 imminently coming, it comes to no surprise that Pangu and independent hackers are aggressively trying to come up with a workable jailbreak. Apple is however expected to strike back once those cracks come out in the open.
