Céline Dion took the stage on Friday at the Stand Up to Cancer event and made an emotional performance of her new single "Recovering" live from the Music Center's Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

The song, written Pink, has tender lyrics about moving on from the pain of grief and loss. Celine Dion dedicated her emotional performance to René Angélil, her late husband who died at the age of 74 in January of throat cancer.

According to People, the 48-year-old singer also dedicated the song to her 59-year-old brother, Daniel Dion, who passed away two days later of throat, brain and tongue cancer. And also for her father, Adhémar Dion, who died at the age of 80 in 2003 from cancer as well.

After Celine was introduced by Tom Hanks, she spoke about her family members who passed away from the disease, revealing that she does miss her husband every time. She said: "I miss René very much and the loss will forever be a part of my life. Also I lost my father and my brother Daniel to cancer."

Celine's emotional appearance is just the latest thing she has done to honor her husband's memory. After opening up about being "at peace" with the death, she also dedicated her Icon Award to him at the Billboard Music Awards in May.

Celine then spoke about the song she planned to perform, "Recovery,"revealing that it was Pink who reached out to her to offer her the song. She said that during her most difficult time of grieving, she received an unexpected gift from an amazing artist that she have always admired, Pink. "Pink offered me a song that expresses power to stand up and stay strong. The most wonderful song is called 'Recovering,'" Celine noted.

During the heart-wrenching final verses of the song, the star turned to the screen which displayed pictures of her late husband, brother and father, blowing a kiss in tribute to them.

The "My Heart Will Go On" artist disclosed to E! about how Rene-Charles, her eldest son is doing since his father passed, saying: "For a young boy to lose his dad it is really hard, but he is doing well in school and I feel like we have a stronger bond."

The moment was one of the many highlights of the fifth annual star-studded event, which was broadcasted on CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox.

Also, Pink talked about giving Celine the emotional song, telling EW: "Céline has one of the most awesome voices that I have ever heard." Pink added that Celine is like a magic light bulb, walking around emanating light into the world, Hello Magazine reported.

Among the celebrities who participated in the event was Vice President Joe Biden who made an appearance. In May, Biden lost his 46-year-old son Beau to brain cancer.

"He was full of hope till the end," Biden said, of Beau. "He learned what we are learning tonight. We are at a tipping point in the fight against cancer."

Stand Up to Cancer was launched in 2008 and it counts Katie Couric among its co-founders. The organization aims at enlisting the entertainment industry in the fight for a cure.
