Pop star Miley Cyrus has declared that she will never walk the red carpet again. The child star-turned-singer was speaking during an interview when she announced her decision to no longer participate in red carpet events.

"When people are starving, am I on a carpet that's red," the former Disney star told Amanda FitzSimons during a two-day dish session for Elle. "Because I'm 'important'? Because I'm 'famous'? That's not how I roll."

The singer admittedly took the decision when she walked the red carpet for the premiere of "A Very Murray Christmas" in 2015. She further added that red carpets really are "like a skit."

Cyrus lately has embarked on a get-real campaign. She famously ditched her publicist a year ago and has started interacting directly with fans on Instagram, where her followers find a mix of political commentary along with images of her many animals. She has also launched a foundation to support homeless LGBTQ,  a cause which she promotes relentlessly.

The 23-year-old singer will be soon seen in her new role of a coach on NBC's "The Voice," which is her first gig since "Hannah Montana" wrapped up in 2011. She will be joining Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine for the show's Season 11, premiering Sept. 19 and airing Mondays and Tuesdays this fall.

Talking about her upcoming show, the singer revealed her advice to the contestants to be like Bernia Sanders and be the person people "want and love." She also touched upon her friendship with fellow singer Britney Spears by saying that she just wants her to be happy.

While Cyrus seemed fed up with her celebrity status, her clan is grooming another family member to become a star. The singer's sister Noah Cyrus has recently landed two recording contracts worth a total of $350,000, according to a report from TMZ.

The label with which Noah has signed with is still not known. The 16-year-old had played small roles in a few episodes of Disney series and was a background dancer in the 2009 film "Hannah Montana: The Movie." Watch the snippet of the movie below:
