Only a handful of anime series can match the hype surrounding the second season of One Punch Man. The brainchild of web-comic artist One and mangaka Yuseke Murata has turned into a worldwide phenomena, spawning a number of media reincarnations from video games to light novel series.

More importantly, OPM has already established an enormous fan-base that could even rival long-running anime series like Naruto, One Piece and even Dragon Ball franchise roughly a year after its anime debut.

And like all highly-anticipated series, rumors will continue to fly around until probably the release date gets officially announced. Some are plain outrageous, while others look legit. Then, there're these three reports that will make you believe that OPM season 2 is just around the corner after all.

Here are the three hard-to-snub reports about the rumored October debut of One-Punch Man season 2.

-Anime and video game authority Gamespot recently posted a hype video about the upcoming season. In the flick, it shows information pertaining to the release date of One Punch Man season 2.

Gamespot noted that news about the premiere date OPM S2 could breakout anytime this September. Many believe a teaser video will likely be aired in the final episode of One Punch Man English Dub on Toonami.

-The October release date of OPM 2 sounds pretty much legit for the reason that anime slated for fall release usually takes place this month. Last year, OPM S1 debuts October 5 and runs through December 21.

-The series will swerve away from the storyline in the manga series. If One's webcomic series will provide story material for Season 2, then there's no reason to deviate from the flow of the story. However, it's most likely that Murata's OPM manga will continue to the basis for the anime series.

Unfortunately, the manga series has lagged behind the webcomic by several volumes already. Currently, Murata's manga is in the initial phase of the Monster Association arc, which will highlight the showdown between Saitama and Gorou.

I really do think the Saitama vs. Gorou battle will take place in Season 2, but writers of the anime series need to come up with ways to bridge the story gap in order to reach that scintillating climax of the season.
