Google could be developing and selling their own Wi-Fi router for household setups that want a simplistic and fully functional replacement for their old devices.

Simply dubbed as "Google WiFi," the router from the search engine giant is expected to cost just $129 which is decently priced compared to the other routers available in the market. The tech company has not officially confirmed the rumors but several reputable sources are already reporting about the new router.

Google could be revealing their WiFi router on October 4 at an event that the company already announced presumably for their new products, TechCrunch has learned. The search engine giant is expected to unveil the Google WiFi router, Google Home and a new Chromecast device which is capable of 4K streaming.

The new Google WiFi router works similarly to the popular Eero router as more than one device could be used inside a house. Specialized software on the routers will help them to work together in order to bring the best possible Wi-Fi connection inside the home without the tinkering needed from the users.

Google WiFi routers could connect to each other via Bluetooth so that they can still save on electricity. It helps users experience better Wi-Fi connections at home without having to rely on unstable extenders and such.

Besides the router, Google could also be unveiling their new Google Home voice-activate assistant for the household. The said device is expected to take on Amazon's powerful Echo device.

Google Home is expected to cost $130 which is considerably cheaper than the Amazon Echo but still more than twice as expensive as the $50 Echo Dot, Engadget reported. The company will also reportedly reveal the Chromecast Ultra which is capable of 4K media streaming for households with expensive TVs, monitors and stupidly fast Internet connections.

Fans will have to wait until October 4 when Google will hopefully unveil the Google Home, Google WiFi and the Chromecast Ultra including their release dates. The said event will be held in San Francisco and press events have already been sent out which could mean that they need coverage and publicity.
