The Marvel Studios TV series "Daredevil" on Netflix turned out to be the most successful venture for the studio outside of the silver screen.

After the groundbreaking first season, fans were treated with a quick turnaround. Striking while the iron is hot, so to speak, the second season was released in less than a year.

This development sent fans eagerly anticipating the third installment, but they might be disappointed-not with the quality of the show but with the release date.

According to Comicbook.com, Marvel and Netflix may have to take their time before the next season arrives.

The challenge for viewers though will now be one of patience. Based on the supposed production schedule Marvel & Netflix have laid out, the next season of 'Daredevil' might not hit the streaming service until 2018 at the earliest," the site stated.

The schedule according to Natalie Abrams of Entertainment Weekly's tweet has the studios placing the Luke Cage solo series as the first priority. Iron Fist and the Defenders are next in line before the "2nd and 3rd seasons of other shows" and finally, the highly anticipated "Punisher" series.

Based on that timeline, if the "Jessica Jones" second season will come first, it would definitely be a challenge to finish the third season of Daredevil within the same year.

Moreover, Comicbook.com mentioned that "The Defenders" is "a mini Avengers, pairing Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in a fight against evil. It will act a pre-cursor to the next Daredevil season and is set to begin filming later this year." That will further push back production for the third season.

In other Daredevil news, one trending rumor about the third season is the appearance of Bullseye as the villain. Sites like Chatt Sports Net, Movie Pilot and others have speculated his appearance based on lead actor Charlie Cox's statements in an interview with Screen Rant.

"If we are fortunate enough to continue making the Daredevil series, I can't imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn't show up at some point," Cox said. "It would be great to have him around at some point. Who would play that part I have no idea but I just think there's such an interesting, rich character there, and also of course, the history that Bullseye has with Karen Page is an interesting dynamic. When you read the comics it's etched in a Daredevil memory all that stuff."

There is still no official confirmation that Bullseye will be part of Season 3, probably because the production is still way off.
