"Pirates Of The Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tale" cast and crew were said to be pretty upset with their lead actor Johnny Depp. It is being claimed that working with the actor was a nightmare for the cast of the upcoming movie, owing to his deteriorating relationship with his now-estranged wife Amber Heard.
Jackie 'O' Henderson, DJ of the Australian breakfast radio show '"The Kyle and Jackie O Show," claimed recently on air that she was told by crew members of the movie that they were frequently left waiting for Depp to show up on set. The filming of the movie happened primarily on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas in the country.
The claim comes amid the reports which allege that Depp cut the end of his finger off in a rage, while high on alcohol and ecstasy. Heard has reportedly claimed in the court documents that the actor then dipped his injured finger in some blue paint and wrote on a mirror accusing her of having an affair with actor Billy Bob Thornton.
Due to the hand injury, the production was delayed for four weeks since he was flown back to U.S. for the surgery, Yahoo! News reported. Owing to the prolonged delay, Disney was rumoredly contemplating killing off Depp's character in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." The filming of more than half of the movie was already done at the time of the incident,
Despite the issues, the production house was seemingly not in a position to scrap off the actor's shot and insert a new character into the movie since the actor's role, Jack Sparrow, has been an integral one in all "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. For the upcoming fifth installment, the actor has also helped to develop the script of the upcoming movie along with writer Jeff Nathanson.
"Very happily and proudly," the actor told Inquirer in 2014. "I have welcomed taking part in the story and working directly with the screenwriter (Jeff Nathanson)-he and I."
Disney is set to release "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" on May 26, 2017. Watch the teaser below:
