Maria Sharapova starts hitting tennis ball again for the first time since she was suspended by ITF for taking prohibited substance last February. The Russian tennis star posted a video on her social media account, showing her in the middle of an intense training as if she's scheduled to play the next day.
Sharapova, who is only waiting for the decision of the ITF regarding her appeal, has been attending fashion shows in New York and expanding her various businesses, including the Sugarpova sweets. However, seeing her pumping iron again only suggests that she still has the itch for the game.
The ITF slapped Sharapova with a two-year suspension after she tested positive for banned substance meldonium at the 2016 Australian Open championships. She then filed an appeal to rescind or perhaps shorten the suspension.
Prior to the suspension, Sharapova was top-10 player consistently on the WTA Tour, winning five Grand Slam titles in his career. She also bagged a silver medal for Russia in women's single of the 2012 London Games.
