The Samsung Gear VR has gained the Xbox Wireless Controller support. The new support will be powered by the Oculus and it will start with "Minecraft."

The new support will soon be compatible with other controller-enabled games on the VR headset. It will start with "Minecraft: Gear VR Edition." In the coming months, other Gear VR controller-enabled titles will have broader support.

The game company said that the fans who will be attending MINECON this coming weekend will be the first to try out the video game with the Xbox Wireless controller. They can play it in the "Minecraft" Game Lounge Oculus demo section.

With the new VR edition of the game, players can immerse in its world and build, explore, and battle mobs. They can do all these things in a new fresh perspective.

With the new update in October to support Android devices, they can now use the Xbox Wireless Controller. They can use the controller directly through the Gear VR device.

According to another post on the official website of Xbox, players have to get the latest update for their Xbox Wireless Controller first when they get their game. Next, they will have to download the October update to the game in the Oculus App on their GR VR device. Afterwards, they can connect their controllers with Bluetooth and play right away.

The game company said that they are working hard on making other controller-supported VR video game titles to work with the Xbox Wireless Controller. When these games are now fully supported, players will only need to update the controller and they will be ready to play. They advise the players to read the game's description for the details on controller compatibility first before purchasing.

The supported phones for now are Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy s6 edge+, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 edge. Windows 10 gadgets that are running the Windows Anniversary Update will also be required for the Bluetooth device.
