''Hunter x Hunter'' season 3 is one of the most anticipated TV anime series and since the writer Yoshihiro Togashi went back to hiatus, the producers Viz Media clearly is upset with this fact. It is reported that due the non-continuation of the manga series, the makers of the anime series are not thinking about filming season 3.
Even though there is enough material available to air season 3 of this popular manga series, and it is rumored that the new season will revolve around ''Dark Continent Arc,'' the directors still feel that the time is not right to launch season 3 now.
Even though Togashi's wife Naoko Takeuchi who is a famous manga artist too is helping her husband to complete the manga as his back problems have been a big hindrance for the last few years, the manga had to be put back on hiatus again. The creator of the ''Sailor Moon series'' Takeuchi is drawing the background patterns for the manga ''Hunter X Hunter'' chapters, however the weekly serial is too hectic a schedule for Togashi.
According to Rocket News 24, Togashi may not return from his hiatus soon. They had contacted the Weekly Shonen Jump's publisher, Shueisha, and according to them, chapter 361 of the manga will not be published anytime soon. "The last time the series was put on hold, it was because of Togashi-sensei's lower back pain, and once again, his condition has gotten worse, necessitating a break again. At this time, it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series'' clarified Shueisha.
In season 1, the third episode was aired on Oct. 30, 1999 and it was entitled ''Puraido × Araumi × Kettō" which means "Pride × Stormy Water × Duel'' in English. In this episode the viewers saw Gon and Leorio who were on the ship to attend the hunter exam meet another hunter Kurapika.
The captain of the ship asked all the young boys the reason why they want to become a hunter, and to that Gon immediately talks about his bloodline and how his father Gino too was a famous hunter. He wants to meet his father and hence wants to enrol in the hunter exam.
Leorio wants to be rich, and he feels that he has the skills to be a good hunter. Kurapika wants to punish the wrong elements in the society and wants to hunt them down. In episode 4 which was aired on Nov. 6, 1999, and was named as "Sentaku × Chikamichi × Mawari michi" (means "Decision × Shortcut × Detour'') showed the three would-be hunters Gon, Leorio and Kurapika going towards the hunter exam venue. The captain of the ship had warned them in advance and had asked them to take shelter in a tree on the top of the mountain and not to go to the examination venue immediately.
Gon and Kurapika followed that instruction; however, Leorio takes the bus towards the examination venue. He soon realised that the bus was a trap and joins his friends. On the way they meet another examinee Matthew who betrays them. However, the trio respond to the answers of the examiners correctly and move to the next test.
The season 2 was broadcast on Toonami with Englsih subtitles from Apr. 16, 2016. According to Crunchyroll, which has the broadcasting rights of this popular anime series, this is still a very popular anime series. May be going by the demand, the original anime creators will come up with a season 3 soon.
