The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be out by late October with the latest refreshed laptop expected to come with improved specs. Most may be expecting a faster processing device though the high-end variants may sacrifice that in lieu of quality graphics processing units.

Ideally, Apple has turned to the use of Intel integrated graphics and lower-end GPUs for their MacBook Pro line. That may hold true for the devices except for one – the high-end 15-inch MacBook Pro 2016.

According to Apple Insider, the Cupertino company could integrate an AMD Polaris GPU for the top 15-inch variant thought the processing speed may be taken a notch loser. The low-end 13-inch and 15-inch variants are expected to continue sporting the same Intel integrated graphics but with notable improvements in processing.

But before moving that far, focus on the MacBook Pro 2016 lies heavily on the processor they will actually come with. Despite concerns on the delivery schedule, Intel had reportedly been able to ship Kaby Lake chips to Apple in time. That said, it would be a better graphics-supporting chip for the device as a whole over the previous Skylake processor option.

Aside from the processor and GPUs, other specs that the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to come with include Touch ID, the much-discussed OLED strip, USB-C ports, Thunderbolt display and the likely removal of the headphone jacks. A fingerprint scanner is also rumored to be included, Mac Rumors reported.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be thinner, something that justifies that rumored removal of the headphone jacks. If so, such opens the doors to a possible integration of Apple’s latest accessory – the AirPods.

As far as the actual hardware of the MacBook Pro 2016, a good idea on what to expect could be spilled by the upcoming macOS version 10.12.1. It will carry the support for the hardware likely expected for the MacBook Pro, most of which were mentioned earlier.

With a potentially more powerful GPU for the MacBook Pro 2016, such opens up a lot of possibilities. That includes gaming and media playback resolutions, a premium nowadays for demanding consumers who prefer HD to 4K displays.
